The Escape Rescue System is a building-wide solution for safe, external evacuation of building tenants and quick transporting of rescue personnel to elevated floors. The system is an array of collapsible cabins, permanently stored on the roof in a folded position.
Upon deployment, the cabin array is lowered to the ground. It then unfolds, enabling emergency responders to board the cabins. It travels upwards until it stops opposite the floor/s to be evacuated, to enable evacuees to enter through specially configured exit windows. The array is then lowered to the ground and tenants exit as it refolds. The system repeats this cycle, transporting responders up and into the building and evacuating tenants as required.
The system includes the rooftop elements - storing and deploying mechanism, drive system, cabin array, independent power source; command and control mechanisms; (re) configured windows on each floor, as emergency exits (and boarding ramps); and wind stabilization mechanism.
The system, based on a unique, patent-pending technology, is unique:
- Very high throughput capacity;
- Effective to all building heights;
- Serves both evacuation (“down”) and rescue personnel transport (“up”);
- Requires no skill or unfamiliar actions by evacuees; and is
- Suitable for all ages and physical conditions of evacuees, including people with disabilities.
The Rescue System comes in two configurations:
- The Escape Rescue Standard System with a capacity of 150 people per trip;
- The Escape Rescue Lite System with a capacity of 30 people per trip.
The Escape Rescue Standard System is an array of five collapsible cabins, permanently stored on the roof in a folded position.
Upon deployment, the cabins array is lowered to the ground. It then unfolds, enabling emergency responders to board the cabins. It travels upwards until it stops opposite five elevated floors simultaneously; enabling up to 150 occupants to enter through specially configured exit windows. The array is then lowered to the ground and tenants exit as it refolds. The system repeats this cycle, transporting responders up and into the building and evacuating tenants as required.
The Escape Rescue Lite System comes with two solid cabins folded one into the other in a "nesting array configuration" As is the Standard Escape Rescue System, the Lite System is installed on the roof and the system is unobtrusive and "invisible" from the ground. Upon deployment, the system lowers the array to the ground. It then unfolds allowing response teams to enter the cabins and to be transported to the focus of the emergency.
The cabins travel upwards and stop opposite two elevated floors, enabling 30 people to enter the cabins through specially configured exit windows. The cabins are then lowered to the ground and evacuees exit the cabins as they refold. The system repeats this cycle, transporting responders up and into the building and evacuating tenants as required.
As is the Standard Escape Rescue System, the Escape Lite Rescue System is self powered and remote controlled from the ground.
The Escape Rescue Lite System is lighter and more compact than the standard Escape Rescue System and requires less space for installation and storage.
Its smaller capacity and lighter configuration makes the Escape Rescue Lite System perfectly suitable for residential buildings and for lower capacity commercial sites, with fewer occupants per floor.
